Diagnostic Considerations

Disorders that may be confused with myoclonic epilepsy include the following [9] :

  • Benign neonatal sleep myoclonus

  • Benign infantile myoclonus

  • Startle reflex

  • Tics

  • Stereotypies

  • Blepharospasm

  • Astatic seizures
